Xin YANG     Ph.D. / Professor / Deputy Director of LAP3

Dr. X. Yang is the dean of Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, Fudan University. He obtained Ph.D. in physical chemistry from HKUST, Hong Kong in 2000. Prior to joining Fudan, Dr. Yang worked as a postdoctor at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA. His research interests include the aerosol physics and chemistry on single particle level and the novel mass spectrometry for rapid high-sensitive analysis of aerosols. His group studies the mixing states of particles and SOA formation in Shanghai by single particle aerosol mass spectrometry (ATOFMS and SPAMS) and Single-Particle Soot Photometer (SP2). The physical and chemical properties of aerosols are comprehensively analyzed by coupling the TDMA, thermal denuder and humidifier to SPAMS and SP2. They have also successfully applied the desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (DESI MS) in rapid aerosol analysis for the first time. He was honored the title of Chang Jiang Scholar by Ministry of Education (2005) and Outstanding Academic Leader of Shanghai by STCSM (2014), and was approved to receive the State Council Special Allowance (2012).
