About

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Particle Pollution and Prevention (LAP3) was set up under the authorization of Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality in 2012, and passed the commission assessment in 2014. LAP3 integrates the outstanding researchers, advanced facilities and equipments in atmospheric sciences in Shanghai. Through the in-depth study on the formation mechanism, long-range transport and health effect of atmospheric particles, LAP3 is strongly involved in providing solutions to aerosol pollution control and prevention.

In LAP3, there are 57 research faculties (28 professors), including 2 academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 NSFC Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 Chang Jiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, 3 NSFC Outstanding Young Scholars, 3 Global Youth Experts, 7 New Century Excellent Talents, 2 Outstanding Academic Leaders of Shanghai, 2 Shanghai Eastern Scholars, 6 Shanghai Pujiang Scholars. LAP3 covers 5500 m2 and owns several sets of advanced facilities with the total value of ~40 million RMB. LAP3 has organized the Sino-European School on Atmospheric Chemistry twice.

Academician Jiming Hao is the Chair of the Academic Committee, and Prof. Jianmin Chen is the Director of LAP3.
