The fisrt Sino-European Summer School on Atmospheric Chemistry (SESAC), organized by France and Germany on one side and two Chinese universities namely Fudan (Shanghai) and the CDU Jinan (Shandong), held in Taicang, Jiangsu, from May 18 to 27, 2013.
It was attended by 55 young researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students, including 27 Chinese, who have followed the course of 24 scientists, including seven French and 11 Chinese. On the scale of France, this school is organized within the framework of the 'Sino-French Program for Environment and Sustainable Development' (SEED), established by the CNRS with a very active participation in the Rhône-Alpes region.
This trading platform is built around how to address the problem of air pollution in a multidisciplinary way. The program of work is also a reflection of this diversity: Experimental Laboratory Measurements, Field Observation, Numerical Calculation ... Each student team was able to participate in a field study to measure the air quality and the model numerically. Alongside these practical activities, students take courses they must then summarized by Sino-European partner.
This event is intended to continue through the writings ensuing, and aims to establish new cooperation agreements on research in atmospheric chemistry between France and China, and Europe and China.
