Dr. Jonathan JIANG from Jet Propulsion Laboratory NASA visited LAP³ on October 24th 2013. Dr JIANG is an outstanding researcher in atmospheric model, and has been awarded NASA Space Act Award in 2005, and NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal in 2010 and 2013. Prof. Xin YANG, Deputy Director of LAP³, and Prof. Lin WANG met with him and discussed the research cooperation between the two sides. Dr. JIANG delivered a report entitled “Evaluation and Regime-dependent Error Diagnosis of Cloud and Water Vapor Simulations in Climate Models Using NASA ‘A-Train’ Satellite Observations”. He explained the evaluation of the accuracy of cloud water content (CWC) and water vapor mixing ratio outputs by using NASA’s A-Train satellite measurements.
