Markku KULMALA, a famous atmospheric scientist from University of Helsinki, has been made an honorary professor by Fudan University on May 17^th, 2014. Ms Marja JOENUSVA from the Consulate General of Finland at Shanghai, President Yuliang YANG of Fudan Univerisity, the dean of Fudan Nordic Center Prof. Yinzhang CHEN, the director of Foreign Affair Office of Fudan University Prof. Chouwen ZHU, the director of LAP³ Prof. Jianmin CHEN and the dean of Department of Environmental Science and Engineering Prof. Xin YANG attended the ceremony. President Yuliang YANG, Ms Marja JOENUSVA and Prof. Xin YANG gave the opening speeches. Then Prof. KULMALA delivered a lecture entitled “Atmospheric aerosol particles: from molecular clustering to global climate”, and have the academic discussion with the over 100 participants. After the ceremony, Prof. KULMALA, along with his delegation, visited the LAP³ and the department of Environmental Science and Engineering. The hope was expressed that more collaboration on atmospheric science could be encouraged between LAP³ of Fudan University and the University of Helsinki in the coming years.
