The 4^th annual session of LAP³ Academic Committee was successfully held in Shanghai, on October 20th, 2016. Fourteen committee members including the chair Academician Jiming HAO, Academician Guibin JIANG, Academician Wenqing LIU, Academician Yuanhang ZHANG, Academician Kebin HE and Professor Jianmin CHEN attended the annual session. Director Nangen YIN of the Division of Science & Technology at Fudan University, Dean Prof. Xin YANG of the department of environmental science & engineering, Prof. Weichun MA (the secretary of CPC of the department), deputy deans Prof. Lin WANG, Prof. Bin ZHOU and Prof. Shicheng ZHANG of the department of environmental science & engineering also joined the session. 

The LAP³ Director Prof. Jianmin CHEN delivered a general review of the development of the laboratory in the past year. Scientific research highlights and achievements in the four research fields were presented in detail by four principle investigators, who are Prof. Lin WANG, Prof. Ying CHEN, Prof. Haidong KAN and Prof. Bin ZHOU. The academic committee approved the gradual achievement of LAP3 and also gave some suggestions on the cooperation between units, talent training, policy oriented investigation and industrialization of research achievements. 

The 2^nd academic committee of LAP³ was set up during the session as well. Academician Jiming HAO has been appointed as the new chair. The deputy chairs of the 2^nd committee are Academician Guibin JIANG, Academician Wenqing LIU, Academician Yuanhang ZHANG, Academician Kebin HE and Prof. Jianmin CHEN. Academician Mu MU and Academician Renhe ZHANG have been added into the Committee members as well. Letters of appointment were awarded to the members of the 2nd academic committee during the annual session.
